Buttocks Resculpting

A buttocks lift can give you the appearance of a tighter, lifted, fuller buttock which overall can improve the shape and contour of your upper legs and thighs. This treatment compensates for low amounts of fat in the region and contours the buttocks for a more toned and youthful look. If you feel that your lower section is out of proportion in comparison to the rest of your body, then the buttocks lift procedure may be appropriate for you. The goal of a buttock lift is to decrease the irregularities in the skin surface, add volume and eliminate the appearance of drooping and dimpled skin.

Is your buttocks sagging and not as full as it used to be? Do you feel that your bottom is not as firm as it was when you were younger?

The Brazilian Butt Lift can create a lifted, perky and firm appearance using your own tissue.

Procedure

A Brazilian Butt Lift typically involves small incisions made at the top of the buttocks, and sometimes in the hips and groin area. Fat is typically harvested from areas such as the abdomen and outer thighs using standard liposculpting technique. The fat is then processed and transferred back into the buttock region in a manner that sculpts the buttocks creating a natural, tighter, more youthful appearance. While a single procedure often provides striking results, the patient should be prepared for about 50% of the injected fat to shrink or be absorbed. Many patients are pleased with a single stage fat transfer. Some patients prefer to do a second stage procedure to add to the foundation that was created during the first procedure.

Anesthesia

The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure can be done under general anesthesia, conscious sedation, or local anesthetic using tumescent anesthesia. Dr. Miller prefers the tumescent technique without general anesthesia as he believes it is safer and the recovery time is faster.

Recovery

Patients should expect some swelling and bruising after a Brazilian Butt Lift. The swelling may last for several weeks before the patient returns completely to normal. A compression garment is worn for about three weeks after surgery to control swelling and facilitate the healing process. Strenuous activities should be avoided during recovery, and it may be several months before the area is completely healed. However, patients are generally able to resume their normal routines within the first three weeks after surgery.
